Hi there! My name is Kassy Gjere, owner and operator of Kassy’s Cookies & Sweets, I am so glad you’re here! I am a 37 year old wife and mama located in Lodi, OH. For the past eleven years I worked for a large corporate bank in Cleveland, but as of December 31st, 2020 I am a full time baker and stay at home mom to my beautiful, funny, loving, and rotten son Jameson and his little sidekick, Bennett. My husband Matt and I have been married for eight years and he truly is my other half. He is my number one supporter and my biggest fan, he is always encouraging me to follow my dreams and do what I love, none of this would be possible without him. (He’s also the best dad!) I began my cookie journey in December of 2016 when I saw some really cute Pinterest-like Christmas cookies online. I really wanted to make special cookies for my friends and family so I ran to our local cake supply shop (which has since closed and I am super bummed) and picked up everything I needed to make these masterpieces. Unfortunately I had no idea what I was doing, my cookies weren’t even, my icing was over mixed but boy was I proud of my creations! I was hooked from there on out. Now I am diving in to all sorts of yummy desserts such as cakes, drop cookies, cakesicles, different chocolates, brownies, french macarons and hot cocoa bombs! I am 100% self taught, I have taken a few cookie classes from some of my cookie idols to learn new techniques but for the most part it’s really just trial and error and a lot of practice. I enjoy taking different cookie classes, attending cookie retreats and Cookie Con (yes that’s a thing!) Some of my very best friends have evolved from the cookie community, who would’ve thought wanting to make special cookies for my friends and family would have led to all of this.
